Veteran Defenseman Justin Coachman Signs With Binghamton December 2, 2022 - Binghamton Black Bears News Release | Black Bears sign Vet D-Man Justin Coachman | BINGHAMTON- The Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Prospect Hockey League announced on Friday morning the signing of veteran defenseman Justin Coachman. Coachman had previously spent the last four seasons with the Watertown Wolves, playing a pivotable part in their Commissioner's Cup championship season last year. The Rochester, New York, native will join the Black Bears on the blueline ahead of their weekend series against his former team. For the first time in his professional career, Coachman will be facing off against Watertown. Coachman played his college hockey at Concordia University Wisconsin, were he played in 25 games as a student-athlete, before being named an alternate captain for the Wolves. Black Bears head coach Gary Gill was asked about the addition of a veteran player to the team and he said, "I think it's a no brainer when he became available... he is gonna add toughness to our team and I am excited for him to join the club." Look for Justin Coachman this weekend wearing the #7 jersey. Mac Lewis has now switched to #19 moving forward as the Black Bears take on the Watertown Wolves this Friday and Saturday at 7:00P.M. Taylor Cutting Added To Binghamton's Roster December 2, 2022 - Binghamton Black Bears News Release | Black Bears bring on Taylor Cutting | BINGHAMTON- The Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Prospect Hockey League announced on Friday morning the signing of Taylor Cutting. Cutting is the second defenseman to be added this week to the Black Bears roster ahead of their weekend series against the Watertown Wolves. Cutting is a native of Royersford, PA, and is your strong, physical presence that the Black Bears staff thought they were missing on the ice. Cutting has shown toughness and grit at every level of hockey he has played and is eager to join Binghamton's ranks. Cutting has previously been in the FPHL with the former Elmira Enforcers, and most recently with the Macon Mayhem of the SPHL. When asked about the addition to the squad, Head coach Gary Gill said, "We are trying to toughen up in our own zone, and with the addition of Taylor it adds to our back end and we are excited to have him." Fans will be able to spot Cutting wearing the #20 starting on Friday night at 7:00P.M. as the Black Bears take on the Watertown Wolves.
